AI Express Makes Trial Landing At Kannur Airport| Mathrubhumi News

UAkyftKannur: In a trial run, a passenger flight landed at the Kannur airport on Thursday. Air India Express Boeing 737 flight, which has the capacity to carry 189 passengers, made a trial landing at the Kannur airport. An expert team from Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has completed a two-day long inspection by Wednesday evening. The officials carried out the landing inspection of a passenger flight on the runway on Thursday morning. The flight will take off from Thiruvananthapuram airport on Thursday in the morning and land by 9.45 am. The flight will take off and land for six times as part of the checking. It is for the first time that a passenger flight is taken for trial landing in Kannur airport. DGCA team led by assistant director V Santhanam has inspected air traffic control station and related facilities in the airport. The team will hand over the inspection report to the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is expected that the ministry will consider the report and provide license to Kannur airport by this month itself. The airport is likely to be operational by November first week.
